Update: Changes to award conditions

The Fair Work Commission has been examining a number of “common issues” as part of the overall review of all modern awards and has determined a number of changes.

Payments on termination – A new clause will prescribe that an employer must, within seven (7) days after termination of an employee’s employment, pay any monies owed to the employee including outstanding wages and NES entitlements (such as annual leave).

Casual conversion – A new clause will give an employee engaged as a casual on a regular and systematic basis for a period of at least 12 months, the right to make a request to convert to part-time employment. Find out more about casual conversion by clicking here.
