Whether you are engaging with an internal employee or external contractor; it’s absolutely essential that you ensure they have a valid Licence or Certificate in the jurisdiction in which they are operating.
These days, checking a current Licence or Certificate is quick and easy. All you need to do is jump online and enter the person’s name:
Australian Capital Territory
Enter ‘occupational licences’ in the search box, click on ‘Occupational licences registers’ and then select relevant category.
New South Wales
Click on ‘Look up a record’ on the homepage and then select ‘Property’
Click on ‘Business and industry’, then ‘Licensing NT Online’ in the ‘Most popular’ section. Select ‘Search the register’.)
Click on ‘Laws, regulated industries and accountability’, then ‘Queensland laws and regulation’ and ‘Regulated industries and licensing’. Select’ Check a licence, association, charity or register’ from the left-hand menu.
Click on the ‘Work & Business Licences’ menu item and then select ‘Check licence holders’ in the ‘Popular links’ listing.
Click on the ‘Register of Property Agents’ menu item and then select ‘Individual Property Agents’.
