9 January The end of an era: Greg Paterson steps down January 9, 2019 By Reef Admin REEF management 0 It's the end of an era at REEF as our Membership Services Director, Greg Paterson, steps into retirement. It’s likely that Greg Paterson has forgotten more about workplace relations than most people will ever learn in their lifetime. He’s been a leader in the field for more than 30 years – 25 of those with REEF. Greg was appointed as REEF’s Executive Director in 1993. Responsible for driving the development and implementation of innovative, cost-effective and value-add services for real estate employers, he has always been instrumental in helping agencies comply with their extensive employment obligations. Throughout his career, Greg has always been passionate about working directly with members and helping them with their workplace issues. Stepping down as Executive Director in 2016 and into the newly created position of Membership Services Director allowed him to do just that. Earlier this year, Greg celebrated 25 years with REEF – a remarkable milestone. During this time, he’s worked tirelessly on behalf of real estate employers to keep agencies on the straight and narrow. He’s recognised not only as New South Wales, but also Australia’s, leading and most dominant expert in industrial matters affecting the real estate industry. There wouldn’t be a real estate agency in the state that hasn’t benefited from his 25 year passion for creating an industrial workplace environment build around fairness and professionalism. Highly regarded, easily approachable, extremely knowledgeable and always willing to lend a hand, Greg is an unwavering champion for real estate employers. And it’s not only employers who have reaped the rewards of Greg’s work at REEF. A true mentor, he’s invested countless hours in training the REEF team and sharing his knowledge with those around him. Over the last quarter of a century, each and every person who has worked at REEF has benefited from Greg’s skill, knowledge and passion for workplace relations – and they can proudly boast that they learnt at the feet of a master. I’d like to sincerely thank Greg for everything he’s done over the last 25 years. Without him, our industry would be vastly different. But Greg’s not lost to us completely. He’s generously offered to work with us on some key project in 2019 – and we’re looking forward to putting him to work!
