Federal Rule change endorsed by Executive Committee

On 1 December 2017, the Executive Committee unanimously endorsed a Rule change, which has now been lodged with the Fair Work Commission for its approval.

The Rule change has been strongly recommended by the Australian Taxation Office and is primarily concerned with protecting REEF's status as a not-for-profit association.

Federal Rule change

Delete the current Rule 43(3) of the Federation's Rules and insert in lieu thereof the following:

43. Dissolution
(3) In the event of the organisation being dissolved, the amount that remains after such dissolution and the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities shall be transferred to another organisation with similar purposes which is not carried on for profit or gain of its individual members.
