13 December Federal Rule change endorsed by Executive Committee December 13, 2017 By Reef Admin General, REEF management 0 On 1 December 2017, the Executive Committee unanimously endorsed a Rule change, which has now been lodged with the Fair Work Commission for its approval. The Rule change has been strongly recommended by the Australian Taxation Office and is primarily concerned with protecting REEF's status as a not-for-profit association. BRYAN WILCOX Chief Executive Officer Federal Rule change Delete the current Rule 43(3) of the Federation's Rules and insert in lieu thereof the following: 43. Dissolution (3) In the event of the organisation being dissolved, the amount that remains after such dissolution and the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities shall be transferred to another organisation with similar purposes which is not carried on for profit or gain of its individual members. Changes to annual leave provisions now in play In an important decision by the Fair Work Commission, annual leave provisions in modern awards have been varied to provide greater administrative flexibility. The changes apply from the first pay period on or after 29 July 2016. REEF applies for alteration of eligibility rules REEF has applied to the Fair Work Commission for consent to alter its eligibility rules under the Fair Work Act.
